This is the very first "How to Tie a Tie" email I received, and still my favorite...
Hey Bob...thanks for making my teenage son a very happy person. My
husband wasn't home from work yet and I don't know squat about tying a
man's tie...I know a lot of things but not that. Anyway, my son was on
his way to a formal dance and had to have a tie on. Usually he does not
care about things like that, but I guess there is some hot babe waiting
out there for him. I called my brother in Vermont to talk him through
it to no avail. I knew all along I should try the internet but
lo-and-behaold, I waited. Finally, after screaming at each other, I
did a search, found your directions, and we were off. Thanks for
providing info for us. What a story of a modern day family!
Thanks a lot for the tie tying techniques...I always felt like an idiot
because I never wore ties much and always struggled to try and do it right
at the last minute. Again, good job!
Thank you from a girlfriend of a severely fashion challenged man for your
"How to Tie a Tie"
Bob you are the man you would not believe the jam you got me out of with
your site My girlfriend will be happy
Thank you for the excellent tie tying info!!! It was exactly what I was
looking for.
Thanks for putting up the "How to tie a tie page". It saved my butt.
i still cant figure out how to tie my tie! Is there anything else you can
tell me? Any tip? thanks!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!! As an up and coming network
administrator, I've been under the gun to wear ties more often,
unfortunately, I didn't know how, and with my wife and I separating, I
was in REAL trouble, your page saved me.
I'm a sailor, and and can tie all sorts of knots blindfolded, but ties
eluded me, NO LONGER!
thanks, bob, you saved my ass; as a blue collor type who only dresses
for weddings ( never again) and funerals, I had an important meeting
that popped up & my girlfriend who usually helps me out was unavailable.
thanks again; aint technology great !!
Well, Bob, I guess I'm not the first to REALLY say a big thankyou to
you. It's kind of embarrising to have to use pre-made ties (when my
brother visits me, he has to tie them all :)
And to ask someone HowTo ? Never... I just couldn't !
But now I won't have that problem anymore.
Well, here is yet another story about a guy who never learned to tie a
tie and he had an interview one afternoon and you came to the rescue.
Thanks so very very much!!!
I would like to thank you for the tie information... After
being showed millions of times by my Dad on how to tie a tie I could
never remember just how to do it. I never really have to use one
only on certain occasions. Well, one of those times happened which
happened to be my graduation from high school. :) My Dad was out of
town and no one else in the house knew how to tie a tie. I search
the internet and found your site. Thanks a bunch for helping me out.
I'm might be starting my own web page here soon and if so I would
like to add a link to your spot if you don't mind... I know I'm not
the only person out there that could use the information... Thanks!
Bob, you are the BEAST!!! You're a big help by having the tie page.
You're helping more people than you think! On behalf of all the others
who never admit anything, THANK YOU!!!
Just wanted to drop a thank you note about your H2TaT page.
H2TaT first got me out of a jam exactly a year ago to the date.
My Wife had a graduation party, and I was supposed to meet
her there. When I pulled my tie out of the closet, it was
un-tied (I had a friend tie the two I had, which I had
worn a total of two times before). I had an only an hour
before I had to leave, and nobody I knew was reachable...
I went downstairs, and decided to see if the internet is
useful fro non-techie things (I'm a software engineer,
and have been using it for years before that). I entered
"how to tie a tie" into infoseek as my first attempt, and
your page was only the 14th in the match list.
I've been carrying a printout of your pages since, and
have been using the story and your H2TaT page quite a bit
as a classic example of how the web is of actual use in
everyday life.
I am on my way to this year's ceremony, and was about to go
upstairs to tie my tie. Naturally I looked your page up again,
and I though to drop off this thank you note.
Geez.
Saved my butt again.
Thanks
As one who has never before needed a tie until now, when an important job
interview is upon me, i would like to thank you profusely for putting these
guides on the Web. You have indeed performed a valuable and butt-saving
service for me and other heathens who were ignorant in the ways of the
necktie... thank you once again
I was really scared I wouldn't find this kind of info on the net, then I
guess I should've known better. Thanks ! is great to find help when you need it.
Thanks for putting that page up. I have repeatedly had people explain
Half-Windsor to me, yet have never been able to achieve any but the most dismal
results with such method. You are no exception. BUT the Four-In-Hand knot your
page described works perfectly for me. The sight of a neatly executed knot in my
mirror brings me great satisfaction. Thanks much.
Thanks a million. A few
Years ago, I had a friend show me how to tie a tie for my then girlfriend's
Sweetheart Dance.(we got married) Now, I am a teacher and have been using that
knot for years. What I thought was a half Windsor was actually the four in hand.
On Christmas eve, I surprised my wife by actually using the Half Windsor. I love
the knot. Thank you very much
Thank you so much for H2tat! I haven't worn a suit in almost eleven years, but
this weekend I'm on a cruise to Mexico and formal attire is required for the
dining room. Thanks to your site, I was able to re-learn the fine art of tying a
noose around my neck.
See you at the shuffleboard courts
Geez man,
Thanks!!!! I had a big Job Interview, I didn't know how to tie a tie and my
grandfather is sick in bed, I don't see my dad much...It was great having a
website that taught me how to tie it. Now I've got a nice job for a 16 year
old that pays 10 bucks an hour. Better than my 5.15 job last winter!!!
You just saved me from rage and desperation. I was trying to tie that tie
of mine. I just couldn't get that perfect "symmetrical triangle" and kept trying
over and over again for 2 hours until I decided to go on the web. I found the
Half-Windsor Knot described on your site and got a perfect tie on the first
shot!
Your 'how to tie a tie' page was GREAT! Thanks for having it up there. I
used to tie a tie in a the four in hand knot which was not bad but the windsor
just looks so much better. I was so bad at tieing a tie that I would tie it
once and never take the knot out. Anyway -- thanks for having that site up; you
have made my life much better!
A BIG Thankyou for providing your info page. I haven't had to wear a tie
since I served in the U.S.A.F. fourteen years ago, your tie skills tend to get
rusty, and I have a wedding to attend in a few days. Whew, that was close!!!
Man Bob u r the coolest guy ever thanx for making this website for how to tie up a tie i learned a lot thanx
This is a wonderful service you provide for young men and women on tying
ties.(sic) Keep it up. One of the few really useful things I have come
across for a while.
Thank you for your How to Tie a Tie website. I found you through google.com
because I have a court date to go to and I do not know how to tie a knot. I
did not know how to Tie a Tie and now I do. I have bookmarked your page and
will use it for a long time. Thanx.
I've searched for tie finding instructions before, but your site had
remarkably simple instructions! Thanks a lot, perhaps my girlfriend will
start respecting me now
Thank you thank you for you how to tie a tie website. My husband had an
important job interview this morning and neither one of us could
remember how to tie a tie. You saved the day!
You've confused the Half-Windsor and the Four in Hand.
Some of us are fashion challenged, and I am amongst their number. I thought
I'd take the time to thank you, as you took the time to post this page. You are
a godsend. I normally have no need for a tie, and my wife fakes it, so I always
look like a reject from a shirt commercial. Once again, much appreciated.
Thanks for the site....it saved my life, I can tie now!
THANK YOU 100,000,000 TIMES FOR TEACHING THE FASHION CHALLENGED
AMERICANS THAT MUST FACE EACH DAY WITH A PRE KNOTTED TIE. YOU WILL BE
REWARDED.
Thank you so much for your help! My husband has been too embarrassed for
years to ask anyone for help and so I would sneak ties to friends and family and
have them tie them for him. I really appreciate this helpful guide.
Your page on how to tie ties saved my life! My 14-year-old son, who's
worn a tie maybe 5 times in his life, needed to wear one today, and my
husband wasn't around to tie it for him. I figured, if there are
instructions on making pipe bombs on the web, there .must. be instructions
for tying a tie. Thanks so much!!
Cool really cool...
.... just saved my ass. Thanks a bunch!! I start a new job tomorrow morning,
and this is the first job where I've had to wear a shirt and tie to work.
Your site is a riot. I just dropped by to find out how to tie a bow-tie I
had to learn the Windsor in grade 9 becuase I went to private school - ties
were compulsory and the football player clasmates would yank the fake hang
on ties off you. I can tie a Winston in my sleep.
Hello, and thank you soooo much for your tutorial on how to tie a tie. I
am 15 years old, and I haven't really thought much about tying my tie (my dad
always did it for me). However, he left on a business trip this morning, and I
just realized that I have a debate tournament tomorrw ( I have to wear a tie) I
desperately searched the net for a decent tutorial, and I found yours. Thanks,
a bunch!
Thanks Man, you saved my ass...I have a wedding in 2 hours!!!
